An officer's tranquil moment of calm breaks as duty calls.


This scene draws from my experience trekking through the Dublin mountains amidst a snowstorm. The eerie blue hue of the sky, and the misty snowfall, coupled with the profound silence, left an impression on me. Inspired by the desolate landscapes reminiscent of films like Fargo and Wind River, I infused these elements into the creation of this clip. Something about Law enforcement patrolling barren areas like these really intrigued me.

When challenged to produce a shot from scratch within a tight four-week deadline, I amalgamated these inspirations into a concise scene.

This project marked my inaugural venture into the integration of 2D and 3D animation, sparking a burgeoning interest that has since captivated me. To achieve a vintage cel animation aesthetic, I crafted the police car in Maya, employing a toon shader for an outlined effect, while animating the hand traditionally in Photoshop.

In Sylvain Chomet's 'The Illusionist,' all elements were animated in 2D except for the vehicles, which were modelled and animated in 3D. Drawing from this approach, I adopted a similar workflow for this project
